世界を代表する美容企業のひとつ、ザ エスティ ローダー カンパニーズ インコーポレイテッドの日本支社である、ELCジャパン合同会社は、2019年に本社オフィスを丸の内二重橋ビルへと移転した。
人事総務本部 総務危機管理シニア室長・オフィサー シニア マネージャーの菅野 晶子氏に、丸の内二重橋ビルに入居した経緯や入居後の感想等について、詳しくお話を伺った。

ー ELCジャパンは丸の内二重橋ビルをどのようにお使いですか？
エスティ ローダー カンパニーズ ジャパンは2019年に、丸の内二重橋ビルに入居し、現在20階のワンフロア約1,000坪で、400人の社員が働いています。この他、同じく丸の内の新東京ビルでは、約500坪のオフィスにフィールドスタッフ向けトレーニングセンターを開設しています。
エスティ ローダー カンパニーズ ジャパンは約60年前、1967年にはじめて日本支社を開設しました。そのとき縁あって三菱地所の山王グランドビルに入居し、それから新青山ビル、山王パークタワー、そして今の丸の内二重橋ビルと、一貫して三菱地所グループのビルに入居してきました。三菱地所グループは、エスティ ローダー カンパニーズ ジャパンが日本市場で成長していく過程をともに歩んできた、パートナーのような存在です。

ー今回、丸の内二重橋ビルに入居した経緯を教えてください。
実は今回、丸の内に移転するにあたり、社内で全社員を対象に『どんなオフィスで働きたいか』という希望を募り、全オフィス社員参加のセッションを行いました。その希望を三菱地所のご担当者と共有しお話を重ねていく中で、街で働く方々や仲通りでお買い物される方々の視点に立っても、また、Diversity・Inclusionの 考え方を考慮しても、私たちのような化粧品企業で、かつ女性が多い会社があるのも街にとって新たな価値となるのではないかと応援いただき入居することを決めました。
また、入居工事には、米国NY本社から内装設えや絵画の設置などのたくさんのサポートを得ることもできました。豊かな植栽の石畳調の仲通り、整然としたオフィスの街並み、美術館、この街で働く人々の姿、そしてオフィスの窓からインペリアルパレス（ガーデン）が見えるという格式ある立地に驚嘆し、社員全員の希望のオフィスを具現化することが出来ました。
現在、オフィス内のインペリアルパレス（ガーデン）が見える場所は、お客様が来社なさるときに備え、あまねく応接室やロビーに当てております。エスティ ローダー カンパニーズ ジャパンのインペリアルパレス（ガーデン）の見える応接室は、It is very popularnot only in Japan but with customers all over the world.
エスティ ローダー カンパニーズ ジャパンの世界各拠点でも、「東京オフィスからは、インペリアルパレス（ガーデン）が見えるらしい」と評判になっており、各国から来訪したエスティ ローダー カンパニーズの社員は、その眺望とスペーシャスなオフィスに驚いています。
余談ですが、採用活動の際は、インペリアルパレス（ガーデン）の見えるこの応接室で面接し「ここで、いっしょに働きましょう」と呼びかけますと、皆さん明るくご承諾いただけるような効果もあるとか。。（笑）
またこの場所は、東京駅、成田空港、羽田空港、大体の私鉄ＪＲなどの電車アクセスはよく、「傘なしで（濡れずに）来られる」点も大きな魅力です。

You can visit the office without getting wet and without an umbrella.
-What does it mean exactly that you can come from any location without an umbrella?
The Marunouchi Nijubashi Building is directly connected to Tokyo Station via an underground passage. If you come to Tokyo Station by Shinkansen, just go to ground level.You can come to our office without going out and without getting wet on rainy days.Furthermore, Tokyo Station is directly connected to Narita Airport and Haneda Airport by train.In other words, if you are coming to our company from overseasSimilarly, you can come to our office without an umbrella even on rainy days.
I want to try out this "ability to move around without an umbrella" It is very comfortable.When we receive inquiries, or when executives andWhen employees visit, they can easily connect the airport to the office.You don't need an umbrella even on rainy days."For employees, Tokyo and Marunouchi are also a place with many trains.There is a terminal station on the road and subway, so commuting is easy.It has improved greatly.

-Please tell us your evaluation and impressions of the Marunouchi area.
Naka-dori Ave. has no shortage of places to shop and eat. It is also popular among health-conscious employees.The exhibits were inspiring, and the Marunouchi IlluminationThere are many beautiful events, including the "Nation".It's no wonder that so many people take wedding photos here.
In this area, not only horizontal flows but also vertical flows, From the Imperial Palace to the station, or to the International Forum near Yurakucho Station.The flow of people to the shopping mall or Tokyo Station is increasing.I feel that this is not only true for business people who work in offices,It's a city loved by tourists and shoppers.I think.
In fact, we had the misfortune of being hit by the COVID-19 pandemic right after we moved in. A limited number of employees will be coming to work in shifts,The Marunouchi Nijubashi Building also has a clinic inside, so it's very helpful.Mitsubishi Estate also has construction projects to help it weather the COVID-19 pandemic.I am very grateful for my husband and his kindness.
This year, the coronavirus has been classified as Class 5, and we have gained a certain degree of freedom. What was especially fun was the young female staff'sI want to participate in the Yurakucho Naka-dori Ave. Tug of War Tournament 2023.A tug-of-war club was suddenly formed within the company, and I joined it.I would like to participate in the activities held in this area of Marunouchi. I was really happy to see the employees' proactiveness. After that, a "tug-of-war club" was formed within the company (laughs).

The company's growth and thoughts on the future of Marunouchi
-Please tell us your expectations for the Marunouchi area in the future.
Marunouchi combines convenience, good accessibility and a historical background. The inner area still has great potential in terms of being future-oriented.It is a town with a secret history. We rented an office and a store there.I am grateful to be here and look forward to continuing my business here.I want to help it grow and contribute to the development of this city.I have renewed this strong feeling.
Finally, the Mitsubishi Estate Group has been a We appreciate your cooperation in the breast cancer awareness campaigns we are currently running.I would like to express my gratitude for the support I receive from the Marunouchi district.At the event at Brick Square, we had 100,000 attendees in one day.We were able to distribute 8,000 breast cancer awareness cards, andThe slogan "Breast Cancer Free World through Strong Bonds" was adopted in Marunouchi.We hope to continue to send a message to everyone in the world who is free of breast cancer.I would like to continue to work hard to achieve this goal.Your cooperation would be much appreciated.
